We’d planned this surprise Boston University proposal with Will for a little bit, but every time we photograph a surprise proposal, we get butterflies in our stomachs. When we arrived on BU campus, there was a little bit of rain (read: it was pouring) right before, but it quickly cleared up when Heeju was on her way. A bit of context: Will doesn’t live in Massachusetts, and Heeju thought she was just hanging out with some friends. Then her friend handed her an iPad with a video from Will. Just as Heeju started tearing up, Will snuck out from behind Marsh Chapel, completing the emotional one two punch with a proposal. She said yes, of course. Given the gorgeous soft post-rain light, we couldn’t help but take the two newly engaged couple around BU campus for a quick engagement session with all the cherry blossoms in bloom.
