Meryl and Max had the most amazing Vermont Barn wedding in Richmond, Vermont. The West Monitor Barn is this insanely cool multistory barn surrounded by fields of flowers and plenty of farm animals from neighboring properties. Meryl and Max (and their friends and family) decorated it beautifully both inside and out with DIY signage and centerpieces.
Vermont’s a bit of a trek up from Boston, so we’re not there frequently, but it’s a beautiful state, and we’re always excited to head north. The gorgeous Green Mountains tower in the backdrop, and we seemingly get amazingly blue skies every time we’re there. On our drive up, we ran into some clouds and rain, but those cleared up right as we pulled into Richmond.
There are so many things to say about the wedding itself, those giant sunflowers around the ceremony, the hops at the reception, all home grown. Family played all the music during the ceremony. Shoot, even the beautiful cake was home made. We also had one of the most fun doing a family portrait session ever. Also, I’m not saying they’re superheroes, but these guys can fly. The animated GIFs will attest to that. 🙂
There’s something to be said about the amazing chemistry with our couples when they’re willing to take a portrait in front of some Port-a-potties, or cross a busy road (after we all looked both ways) just to grab some images in front of a cornfield. We had a freakin’ incredible time photographing this Vermont barn wedding and spending the best day with Meryl and Max.
