Sarah and Philipp had the most epic Lenox Hotel wedding in downtown Boston in late summer. The weather was gorgeous and everything fell into place so smoothly, it felt like cheating. When we first meet our couples, we often make a big deal about our full wedding day coverage: while we give every image our total effort and attention, and we love working together to create that epic shot, for us, wedding day aren’t about any specific image but rather how those images come to life as little parts of the whole wedding day story. Sarah and Phil’s wedding was jam-packed with the most amazing moments from start to finish.
We started with their relaxed rehearsal dinner at their favorite Larz Anderson Park. It’s hard to beat insanely delicious seafood to prep for a crazy wedding day, but it’s even better yet if it comes from a foodtruck. Since we hadn’t seen Sarah and Philipp for almost a year, we even snuck away from the dinner to grab a few portraits, partly to “warm up,” mostly just so we could take advantage of some amazing sunset light. We showed up bright and early at the Lenox on the morning-of with Dash the shiba inu leading the effort for the girls’ preparation. They had a beautiful Chinese tea ceremony, followed by a wedding ceremony in the gorgeous Old South Church. Despite being totally exhausted by the time we had finished up portraits in the Boston Public Garden, Sarah and Phil brought us back to the Lenox for a wild dance party. A special shoutout to DJ Ron Furr for the great music keeping that dancefloor active.
A slightly longer post than our usual affair, but we still had to make some aggressive choices to squeeze in the most wild 16 hour wedding day. Without further ado, Sarah and Philipp’s cussin’ epic Lenox Hotel wedding!
