A scientist. A soon-to-be medical student with crazy good art skills. Avid tennis players. Craft peanut butter enthusiasts. Turkey. Cherry blossoms. Sunset. Did we mention turkeys? We’re pretty excited about this engagement set, and you can probably see why. After that awful winter (though to some, including our ridiculous German Shepherd, it was pretty awesome – yep, she and Betty are featured on weather.com, right there in image 98!), it was a welcome change of pace to do an engagement session out in the warmth, with all the blooming cherry blossoms.
We met up with these two charming people at Franklin Park in the late afternoon to bask in that glorious golden hour light. We were immediately blown away by how interesting and talented they are! As we walked around exploring this park, Alice and Daniel tag teamed in telling us their epic story. Seriously, everything had an amazing, or hilarious, plotline – how they met, how he proposed, and even how she accepted that proposal were pretty much perfect scenes for a great rom-com.
Photographing this engagement session was such an adventure for us. We don’t frequent Franklin Park ourselves, so it wasn’t hard for us to get excited about every potential spot. We narrowly avoided dense patches of poison ivy… several times, and at one point, one of us still ended up sitting down in some. The giant turkey aggressively gobbling at us (if you have not experienced it before, it’s actually pretty scary) only helped make our day just a little bit more wild. And of course we ended our adventure in the woods in an aptly-named section of the park called “The Wilderness.”
For us, springtime signifies the beginning of the action-packed wedding season, and we absolutely love the slew of engagement sessions to take advantage of the kickass weather. We’re just getting warmed up for 2015, and we can’t freakin’ wait to see what the rest of this year gives us.
