What an amazing weekend. We went into the 2013 Clinton Global Initiative University meeting with the intention of building our portfolio and gaining invaluable experience, but we walked away with so much more. Since 2008, students from all over the country have gathered for CGI U at various universities to try and change the world. It’s such a humbling experience to see so many individuals gathered in one location with ambitions and dreams focused on helping others. We were so inspired listening to President Clinton speak about the Clinton Global Initiative, and it was such a privilege to be present for some of the amazing conversations that took place with public figures such as Jada Pinkett Smith, Matthew Perry, and Stephen Colbert, whose Monday night episode of the Colbert Report was recorded on stage here. It was an incredible honor to shoot alongside former White House photographers Barb Kinney and Paul Morse – we learned so much just sitting and speaking with them. Sure our shoulders still hurt from carrying around 15+ pounds of equipment for three days, and our legs are sore from trying to catch the perfect angle, but none of that really matters in the grand scheme of things.
